Good on ya, Sonny!

In the egoistic, often distorted and complex era of sports(wo)men, i t was relatively pleasing to hear news of New Zealand’s Sonny Bill Williams knock out of contender Clarence Tillman. It is not necessarily enthusing to me that Tillman was knocked out in the first round of the match, but rather, it is simply in Sonny Bill Williams. Being actively involved in two Olympic recognized sports is a huge feat, let alone being in the top tier for both of them. The 2011 Rugby World-Cup winning full back has now become New Zealand’s heavy-weight boxing champion as football associations are scrutinized for match-fixing and administrators are ransacked for misdemeanors.

This breed of multi-sport athlete reminds of a hybrid car – passionate, modest, luxurious and well worth the watch for the love of it all. Do I smell a triple threat by the looks of his kit in this training picture? Whether so or not, good on ya, Sonny!
